Asma Al-Assad, Where are you?

It's been more than a year and the non-violent protest morphed in civil war is yet to end, although a ceasefire is in full effect. Bahar Al-Assad has continuously lied to the world and his own people about the future of Syria, but there is another Al-Assad we need to look at and question why she is not doing anything to save here people. Syria's first lady Asma Al-Assad has yet to voice her opinions on the violence taking her county by storm. The British born, trophy wife of Bashar Al- Assad is doing nothing to protect her people and we are all wondering:  Where are you, Asma? your people need you and if you don't step up, more and more women and children will lose their lives.

The world is in shock as we see this 21st century modern women take the role of standing behind the man, taking the role of a bystander and watch as people loose their lives, homes, hopes and dreams. Asma Al-Assad, a British born Syrian is being urged by the wives of U.N diplomats to  stop her husband and call for peace in her country. "We want her (al-Assad) to speak out for the end of violence. That is what we want. Stop the bloodshed. Stop it now. We know this is a risk for you, but take this risk," Huberta von Voss-Wittig, the wife of Germany's U.N. ambassador.

Change.org is asking the world to sign their petition to urge Asma to put an end to the violence once an for all. In a open letter, asking her to care for her people and just act on their behalf.

"Hundreds of children in your country have already died, tens of thousands have been injured and displaced, all of them have been traumatized. But you remain silent.

We expect you to speak out for peace, to ask for a stop to the bloodshed. Make your voice heard!
Stop being a bystander.
It is your duty to prevent the breakout of civil war as a woman, as a wife and as a mother of young children yourself. Imagine it were your children in danger, would you speak out then?

You have waited too long already, but there is still time to change the course of Syrian history. Please, publicly call for peace in Syria."
