In Washington--Saturday, a group of conservative activist choose Massachusetts's Governor Mitt Romney as the front- runner for the GOP in 2012 . It seems as though the republicans have found their guy-- for now and I am assuming they see him taking on President Obama in 2012.
This is the third year that Romney came out on top, this year he beat out Louisiana Governor and, the supposed star of the republican party Bobby Jindal, who came in second. Also, he beat out the woman, who on Thursday according to several polls will be the candidate people will most likely vote for in 2012, Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin. The results came over two days from 1,757 of the party activists who came to Washington for the annual conference and filled out ballots on Thursday and Friday.
The choices in the poll were: Florida Gov. Charlie Crist; former House speaker Newt Gingrich; former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani; former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee; Jindal; Paul; Palin; Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty; Romney; South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, and "Undecided."
