A Tiny Bahrain Roars Loud

It’s been a week since the mighty Hosni Mubarak relinquished his hold on Egypt and stepped down. A country that was suppressed by the government, while they (politicians grew rich) is still in celebration mood, seven days later. However, it was no surprise that a domino effect would take place, with Libya, Yemen, Iran, Jordan and the tiniest of all Middle Eastern countries, Bahrain have become the sites of massive protest.

A day of intense protest through out Egypt has caused military forces on the streets ordered by President Hosni Mubarak. The leader, who the Egyptians people want out, has also ordered a nation wide overnight curfew.



The World's Newest Nation on the Rise?

When most of the world thinks of "Sudan" they think of genocide and millions and millions displaced. They remember the images of war and hunger and of hope for some Sudanese who  knew a day like today may be on the rise. It is not official, but Southern Sudan is on the first day of voting in a week-long independence referendum that may create the world's newest nation, about five years after the end of a civil war.
