Monday, September 29, 2008

Frm. President Bill Clinton this past week held his annual Global Initiative Summit in New York City. The CGI (Clinton Global Initiative) is a non-partisan catalyst for action, bringing together global leaders including heads of state, non-profit organizations, charities, and business leaders to discuss challenges facing the world today and devise and implement innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Each year as the United Nations meets, Clinton holds his Global Initiative Summit at the same time, having not only politicians, but heads of states and CEOs address the meeting. All with a common goal, to making this world a better place for our children to live in. It focus on poverty, energy crisis, disease, war, hunger, education, and religion. It brings together both Republicans and Democrats, actors and singers, athletes and Queens. Presidential nominees, former vice presidents, and a Queen all spoke, hoping to raise more money to help those that are less fortunate than they are.

It started four years ago 2005 in New York City and more than 50 heads of attends.
