"Yes We Can"

Saturday, June 7, 2008

Over 6,000 supporters came to the National Building Museum in Washington D.C to support Senator Clinton formally extend her support to Senator Obama, the presidential nominee for the 2008 general election.

Although this was not the speech she had in mind of ever giving this election season, she was graceful and appreciative of getting this far. “I endorse him and throw my full support behind him. And I ask all of you is to join me in working as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me”. Her speech was heart felt, no one ever thought it would come down to this. It’s easy to loose when no one has faith and thinks it’s were you will end up. However; when you have this big support behind you and you were seen as a winner for most of the 2008 campaign, it is quite a sad moment, like today to suspend your campaign and throw your hat in for your rival’s campaign for president. Clinton’s campaign stated earlier this week that if the No.2 spot was offered to her, she would accept. Maybe this speech was nothing but an audition for the Obama campaign and not so much a fair well, but only Clinton would know this. Senator Obama has assembled a V.P search team and has stated earlier this week that everyone needs to settle down as he makes his decision on his running mate.

Clinton thanked her supporters for their hard work and dedication and stated that she will join Senator Obama in “Yes We Can” to Change. Senator Clinton was the first woman the United States has ever had run for the Presidency. She hopes that the idea of having a woman run for president will no die out, but will flourish as time goes by.
