Who is George Obama?

He is none other than Senator Obama’s half brother who resides in Huruma, Nairobi.

Both brothers share the same father and both also are in the same boat of hardly knowing him. Barack Obama Sr. left the United States back to Kenya when Barack Jr., was just a baby. In Kenya he fathered another son, whose name is George. Like Barack, George never got to spend anytime with their father because Obama Sr. was killed in a car accident, when George was just six months old.

Obama describes meeting his half brother as a “painful affair” in his first book “Dreams for my Father”. Both brothers were searching for their roots and that meant learning about their father. Obama Sr. ventured to Kenya to meet his father’s family and George bought his brother’s book to learn the other half.

The story of George Obama living in a shack in the Nairobi slums broke from an article in the Italian Vanity Fair. It angered the 20-something year old as it stated he was making less than a dollar a day. George says his life has been great and although there are challenges, it does not bother him.

The Nairobi- born Obama says he knows his brother will become the next President of the United States and also states that "Because he wants to be President.”I think in life, what you want is what you are supposed to get."
