The Vice Presidential candidate has finally been picked for the Democratic Party and it is none other than presidential candidate, Senator Joe Biden of Delaware. As of 3am on August 23rd, 2008 the text messages and emails read “Obama-Biden”. So let the bumper stickers, pins, and T-Shirts begin.

Joe and Barack will make their first appearance together, today in Springfield, Illinois, the exact same place Senator Obama began his presidential Campaign 19 months ago on a cold winter day.

Biden beat out three potential VPs according to CNN Friday; the list included Senator Hillary Clinton of New York, Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana and Virginia Governor Tim Kaine.

The 65-year-old was first elected to the Senate in 1972. Shortly afterward, his first wife and daughter were killed in a car accident. He considered resigning, but decided to continue with his political career.
Biden is serving out his sixth term, making him Delaware's longest-serving senator.
He is married and has three children. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and got a law degree from Syracuse.
In 1988, Biden suffered an aneurysm and nearly died but has recovered fully.

The new team will debut today at 3pm ET in Springfield to address the nation and their supporters.
