The Best Country in the World is...

When checked the mail yesterday,the first thing I spotted was the colorful cover of Newsweek, and the headline reads "The Best country in the world is..."Naturally, I had to stop what I was doing to find out who it was.

So, who do you think it is? I'm sure most of you think it's the good Ol' U-S of A right? Well, guess what, the super power of the world, didn't even break the top ten.  Yes, you are reading right, not even the top ten.

{Famous Kiss} WWII Kiss Unveiled in Times Square

A "Kiss" that ended  a WAR!!

Known to the world simply as "The Kiss", Alfred Eisenstaedt's black-and-white photograph of an unidentified sailor kissing nurse Edith Shain in 1945, marked the end of WWII.  The photo was published in Life Magazine, and was made the most famous kiss in the world. 

 

To commemorate the 65th anniversary of the U.S. victory over Japan (V-J Day), a 26 foot statue representing the image has been put on display at Times Square.

Obama Wants Signed Copy of The New Yorker?

President Obama has had some hard criticism from The New Yorker, while running in 2008, but so has many other people--Like Osama Bin Laden.  Back in 2008, the New Yorker portrayed the President and First Lady as gun-toting--which didn't go over too well with the first couple.  But in February 2010, a cover showing Obama walking on water and then falling in, apparently got the President's attention, so much that he wants a signed copy of the magazine that references his trouble with health care and the Sam Brown election.

Palin Earns 100K for Tabloid Cover

Are these photos really worth $100,000? It seems the tabloid magazine In-Touch Weekly thinks "the at home feeling with The Palins" are worth it.The Ex-Governor and her daughter pocketed an eye popping 100K for their " We choose Life" cover and exclusive photos of the two mothers and the rest of the gang.

It seems that Palin's choice to quit politics, was a good one. On an average year as Governor, she made $125,000 but for just eight hours in her home for some photos, she got $100,000. Plus she earns about 100,000 per every public-speaking event and she just added the multi year deal with the fair and balance team FOX News.

You know Palin, since you're making all this money, maybe you should take that 100K from the magazine, (the one you don't want to comment on) and give it to Haiti. Just a thought.
