Meyer's Change of Heart

Sunday, December 27, 2009

Just 24 hours later it was announced that University of Florida's Urban Meyer will not be retiring as head coach of the Florida Gators football team. Today in a press conference in New Orleans, he announced that he will take indefinite leave of absence to deal with his health issues. He even went as far as saying he will be on the sideline when the Gators kick off their 2010 season.

The 45 year old's health became priority after the Gators lost to Alabama in the SEC game earlier this month. Meyer checked himself into the hospital hours after that game. He stated today that he will take the time allowed to him to get healthy. We hope that coach Meyer takes care of himself and leads the Gators to another BCS Championship.
Meyer will coach the Gators when they take on Cincinnati on New Year's Day, with offensive coordinator Steve Addazio taking over Florida's football program during his absence.

God Bless
